Prices of HD televisions may be plummeting, but the cost of a solid HD camcorder is holding steady at around $1,000—though you do get a good bit more for your grand than you did last year. Canon's new Vixia HV30—an upgrade from 2007's HV20—shoots in speedy 30p progressive mode. It also has a full-HD CMOS that produces sharp contrasts and vivid color, a svelte black body, and a curb weight of about a pound and a half. And what's held over from last year's model—10x zoom, image stabilization, instant auto-focus, and a 2.7-inch wide-screen display—remains top-notch. In other words, highly deserving of a buy rating. Film Director: Karlie Keisha Lewis

Karlie Keisha Lewis has shown an affinity for the camera at a young age. Starting her career as a young actor in television and film she has guest starred in over forty movies, commercials and television shows. Though working as an actor, Karlie has always been interested in the making of a film and dreamed of someday becoming a film director. Growing up in the Bronx, she has always had a desire to express her experiences with the world through film so she moved to Los Angeles to pursue her career. She attended the program at The Los Angeles Film School while still auditioning for roles as an actor to make ends meet. This program gave her the opportunity to make her first 16mm film Michael’s Walk. Thru hard work and perseverance this film was a success. Karlie is the first African American woman director to graduate from her class. With help from sponsors she went on with her dreams to film Most Wanted, which is based on a true story. Karlie is determined to make it as a film director. Her goal is to bring images and stories to life that you may have seen in a way that has never been presented before.

It's not every day that a handful of cutting-edge filmmakers get together and decide to make some dirty movies, so when this collection of short pornographic films from the likes of Larry Clark, Gaspar Noé, and Matthew Barney debuted at Sundance last year, it caused considerable, er, excitement. Unsurprisingly, Destricted went straight to DVD. Tragically, it went straight to DVD in the U.K. only.

Stars on the Rise: Suvarchala Narayanan

Suvarchala Narayanan was born to Indian parents, but studied in England she completed her GCSE’S, A’levels in England with very high grades, she was then accepted at Manchester Law School. She entered the Femina Miss India 2001 contest with no modeling experiences at all, and stormed the Miss India panel of judges. She placed in Miss India but was long gone after the contest. However 5 years on this beauty is back with two international Hollywood movies and a role in one of India’s most famous serials. Lets give it up for Suvarchala Narayanan all the way from 2001 when she was 19, 2006 will make the year for the 24 year old ex Miss India semi finalist.

Stars on the Rise: DEE FYFE

After studying for her first degree, Dee accepted the fact that acting had found her. Well, she describes it was more like a kidnapping (bound, gagged and tortured)!

Dee has extensively studied and have a Masters Degree in Theatre Performance from the Central School of Speech and Drama, London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts Examinations in Acting and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology. Ms. Fyfe has my parents to thank for drowning her in academia at every given opportunity. "I have highly intellectual parents and they are a touch eccentric so they are responsible for some of my many idiosyncrasies".

Dee started out acting mostly in UK TV drama and have done film work in the UK too. She also performed in plays. "The theatre to me is where the actor sharpens their tools. I really do not understand actors who never want to perform on the stage in theatre. Its like a surgeon not wanting to perform operations. I will be in LA soon and intend to start acting over there. I still love London and in the future would like to do some plays there".

Her other work includes TV hosting/presenting mainly for music and entertainment shows which has included interviewing celebrities, rock stars and liquor-lashed legends such as David Soul! Dee has also done plenty of modeling around Europe. "When I am not feeding my tortured soul with acting, I like to have fun DJing. I spin rock, indie, electro, classic house, alternative and mashups at some of the largest events and clubs in the UK. I am now on a mission to melt down some of the plastic in LA with great music. I also write rock and blues songs and sometimes perform for the hell of it with rock & roll bands".

Reuters has an article on the top paid actresses in the industry, and Julia Roberts tops the list. If you’ve ever wondered how movie stars are able to afford the lives they lead, here’s an indicator. The list shows Mrs. Roberts fetches $20,000,000 per title, regardless of how absolutely dreadful Ocean’s 12 was. Kidman, Witherspoon, Barrymore, and Zellweger round out the top five. Be mindful that this is a per movie number and doesn’t include endorsements like make-up ads or a lucrative fashion ad campaign.
