Al Franken takes the measure of our Presidents

To mark the publication of The Truth, with Jokes, we asked author and talk show host Al Franken to list the Capitol's worst haircuts. Nonconformist thinker that he is, Franken instead elected to reveal the "real" heights of some U.S. presidents.

U.S. Presidents, by Height (according to Al Franken):
1. Bill Clinton: 6'6", I bet.

2. George H. W. Bush: He's definitely a head taller than his son, who I think is about 5'8". So I'd put him at around 6'1½".

3. Gerald Ford: All-American center for University of Michigan. Of course, in those days, people were shorter. 6'½".

4. John F. Kennedy: Six feet, 6'2" with hair.

5. Ronald Reagan: 5'9". Thought he was taller, didn't you? Nope. His media people were fabulous. It was all done with camera angles.

6. George W. Bush: 5'8". But he's in great shape.

Actual heights (according to our research): Clinton: 6'1½"; G.H.W. Bush, 6'2"; Ford, 6'; Kennedy, 6'½"; Reagan, 6'1"; G.W. Bush, 5'11"

P.S. Franken claims to be 5'8".

This week ad agency JWT announced that metrosexuals are about to be replaced by “ubersexuals”—men like Bono, Ewan McGregor, and, ahem, Donald Trump. But before we bid adieu to the uber’s predecessor, we asked JWT’s Marian Salzman to name the top five metrosexuals of all time—and where they went wrong.

1. David Beckham: “There is such a thing as overdressed, even if you're three-quarters naked. And David in a sarong will be permanently etched in our brain as just that.”

2. Jude Law: “He excused his infidelity with a counterattack—Sienna just wasn't fulfilling his needs. He's self-focused, and a lot less strong than we realized.”

3. Orlando Bloom: “It's hard to nail a reason why, but somehow he's just too pretty.”

4. The metro hetero formerly known as P. Diddy: ”However, good news: There's room for him as the uberDiddy, the Donald Trump of the urban scene.”

5. Robbie Williams: “This is an unfortunate punishment for being on an Elton John track.”

Humor: Shaq Get's Punk'd

Shaquille O'Neal told Ashton Kutcher, the host of MTV's celebrity prank show Punk'd, that he couldn't be duped. Less than a day later, the big man was proven wrong. O'Neal and his wife, Shaunie, were heading to lunch in Beverly Hills

and got the last spot in the restaurant's parking lot. Once out of the car, though, O'Neal was accosted by a disgruntled Lakers fan who claimed he had been waiting to park there. O'Neal apologized, then entered the restaurant. After lunch, O'Neal found the fan still standing by his car -- which now had flat tires. He wasn't amused -- until it was revealed to be a prank.
